Once again we will be hosting our popular series of walk-in workshops. These mini classes give you an opportunity to create your own work of art under the guidance of an experienced artisan using artist quality materials. The workshops are designed for all ages and all levels of experience. Don't think you can do it? You're wrong! Everyone can create a successful project with our help.
TURKISH MARBLING ON SILK with Richard Aldorasi: Sat & Sun all day. All ages, kids welcome! $20-30 each depending upon size of scarf chosen
Through the "Silk Road" the art of marbling made its entrance into 15th century Turkey. Marbling is the art of creating floating pictures on top of a special water bath. After selecting and applying paint from 22 different color choices ,swirling patterns of color are created using special tools know as rakes and combs .On the surface of these intricate swirling pasterns ,we apply the elegant method of figuring; thus producing fascinating floral effects ,that have for centuries ,captured our hearts and minds of this Ottoman / Islamic art technique. Each participant can print as many of their own 15 x 45 or 15 x72 China silk scarf's as they desire. Scarves are ready for you to take home immediately.

FUSED or SANDBLASTED GLASS with Christy Maurer: Sat & Sun all day. All ages, kids welcome! $15-30

Create a beautiful small work using colorful cut glass, rods, millifiori & glass frits. The possibilities are endless to make jewelry or household items. OR, create an image on glassware using adhesives, resists, tape, and labels which will be permanently etched on your piece using a sand blasting technique. Your project will need to be kiln fired, therefore, it is not ready for you to take home immediately. Arrangements can be made directly with Christy for pick-up or delivery.

HAND STAMPED JEWELRY with May McNally: Sat & Sun all day. Adults & kids over age 8 only. $8 and up

May will provide pre-cut jewelry "blanks" in a variety of sizes and shapes. Choose from her collection of metal stamps to hammer a design onto your piece to make a variety of items. May will help you to custom design a piece of jewelry to suit your personal style & personality. Blanks are available in copper, brass & sterling silver.

CERAMIC TILE PENCIL BOX with Sandy Malamed: Sunday ONLY, 10-12 pm. All ages, kids welcome. $25

Decorate a ceramic tile with colorful glazes which will then be mounted into a solid wood pencil holder block. This is a great project for kids to do as a gift for a parent or teacher. The tiles will need to be fired and I have to mount them in your box before you can take your project home. They will be ready in time for Mother's Day!
